I agree that 200 is way too much for a 300 gb hard drive and personally I think you would be better served with corsair ram. I have been running corsair ram for some time and I have never had any problems with it. I like the video card but then I'm not a fan of ati cards and have been using nvidia since 2001. and definately check out newegg.com they have excellent customer service and fantastic prices.

iirc the VelociRaptors are 10,000 rpm drives, hence the price
but I agree, that money would be better spent on bigger/slower drives
roll 2x 500s or a 1TB with/without a SSD

and a 1/3 of a TB can go fast if you bit torrent
my iTunes is about 60GB and my ummm adult viewing choices is near 3 digits (I had roommates for many years and we shared files, thats all I can say)
and normal movies.... 200~300GB

and while you are building this fire breathing number cruncher, consider a 250ish external HD for backing up important pics/data. Hard Drives crash, they will crash, your hard drive will crash no matter how highly reviewed it was. backup your data. and maybe keep the drive off site in case (god forbid) your house burns down.

Agreed. As I always say, it is not a matter of if...it is only a matter of when.

I am anal about backups, to the point that I have server who's sole purpose in my house is to back up the other 11 computers. The backup media is removable, and I take it off site weekly.
