Default How to Apply to Veritas

Veritas is a social Guild with a progressive, progression driven raid team.

Quote:
About us

Some of our members started out on Proudmore under the Bellum Aeternus <tag>. We changed to <Veritas> on Aug 8th, 2006 and a lot of us have been around since WoW retail began in November 2004. We now Live on KHAZ MODAN server.

We are a social Guild with a progressive, progression driven raid team.

We have a variety of interests and sorts of players within our guild, ranging from those whose primary focus is PvP and the Arena ladder, to those who are generally fairly casual, to those whose primary motivation is endgame raiding progression.

Most of our members have a very active offline life and are busy with real life commitments.

Our Raiding Identity

We are a social guild with very few membership requirements beyond being respectful, helpful, and above all enjoying yourself in the world of Azeroth!

Our raid team is very much progression based, and is not casual. Our raiders have to work hard to be selected for the team, and work just as hard to maintain their spots. So if you're pursuing casual end-game raiding, another guild might be a better fit for you.

We raid two nights a week, four hours per night. Our raiders have spanned a geographical range from EST to PST, but Khaz Modan is a CST server.

We raid Tues and Thurs.

Raids begin at 8:00pm CST (9:00pm EST, 6:00pm PST).

We don't have nearly as demanding a raid schedule as most "top" guilds, and if you can't make 90% of the listed times, it's probably best not to bother joining the raid team.

If you are looking to raid seven days a week, six hours a day, you'll probably find a better fit elsewhere. We beleive most guilds raid more than they need to, and we prefer to emphasize quality over quantity of time spent.

The average age in the our raid group is probably in the neighborhood of 26-30, with more people tending towards the working professional end of the spectrum than the student end.

We work too many hours each week to waste time screwing around when it comes to progression, and a lot of people are in that same boat. As raid leaders, we will be respectful and responsible in our use of your time, because we don't assume that players have unlimited quantities of it.

About you

Primadonnas, drama-queens (princesses or kings), and selfish players need not apply.

You should enjoy the game as a whole, and plan to continue playing for some time to come. We are not interested in a hired gun who logs on to raid, logs off after, and is never seen except for when we're raiding. You should also be a good social fit. If you're an active member of these forums, that's a good start.

You must be an intelligent human being, and you must be able to express yourself in a way that does not belie your intelligence. We don't care if you are God's gift to raiding -- if your ordinary communication consists of "culd u rez plz?? thx" stay far away, though if we're ever recruiting for the role of guild jester, your application may be filed away until such date.

Guild chat can be very much R-rated at times, but it's hardly a defining characteristic of the guild. If you're an exceptional player who has perhaps felt that some of the other end-game guilds weren't quite the social atmosphere you had in mind, we may be what you're looking for.

We are aware that these standards are high, but we are quite content to remain patient for the perfect candidates.

About you on our Raiding Team

We are looking for good players, who are mature, competitive, and analytical in their approach to the game, while at the same time remaining humble and patient.

We are looking for players who learn quickly, do not make the same mistake twice, multitask well, are attentive to their surroundings, and are able to quickly grasp the bigger picture of a given encounter, rather than just their class-specific narrow role. If you never die to any flavor of Shadow Fissure, never blow up the raid (unintentionally), and so forth, then that's a start.

While people who enjoy PvP, as do most of us, are more than welcome, PvE progression should be your priority when it comes down to it.

It should be what you build your character around, and the deciding factor in choices you make regarding gear and spec. Your history as a player should demonstrate experience and commitment to endgame raiding. Ideally, applicants will be players who have extensive TBC raiding experience along with Ulduar hardmode experience.

We are aware that these standards are high, but we are quite content to remain patient for the perfect candidates.
How To Apply

#1 Create an account on our site with your MAIN CHARACTERS NAME, if your account name doesn't match your character name (special characters excluded) it means our website's built in programming will not be able to track you properly.

You must validate your user account. The validation email may be dropped into a SPAM folder, please check your email and all SPAM folders once you register.

#2 Create a NEW POST of your own in this forum titled, "[character name],[class],[level]" (e.g. "Bob, Rogue, 70")

#3 In that post, please include the following.

Quote:

1) Character name

2) Class, Spec & Level

3) Current server (transfers are welcome, but let's talk first)

4) List of any serious alts you have

5) What are your usual playing hours? Are there days/times when you are consistently unavailable?

6) Guild and/or Guild History, with explanation of why and how you left and joined your current or prior guilds.

7 ) Discuss your prior endgame raiding experience and your goals in Wrath of the Lich King raiding?

8 ) Why do you want to leave your current guild?

9) Tell us a bit about yourself. How old are you? Where do you work or go to school? What is your gender? How long have you played WoW? What other MMOs have you played? Add anything else you feel is pertinent.

10) Who will be sponsoring you into Veritas?

11) Please list any references (e.g., current/former guildmates) who could vouch for you.

12) Out-of-game contact information (e-mail or MSN)

13) What do you hope to gain by joining Veritas?

14) Are you interested in Veritas for End Game Raiding?

We are currently NOT recruiting for our Raiding Team:

Skip the below questions unless you are applying for the raiding team and only if we've indicated your class/role is open in the above red text.

1) Link to your armoury/webstats RAIDING spec, including glyphs

2) Define which role you wish to raid as

3) List which resources you use to prepare for a raid.

Put some effort into your application -- hopefully as much thought and effort as we put into writing this. If you have any questions or if anything above otherwise needs clarification, send a PM to your sponsor. Once we have reviewed your application, we will be in touch.

If you fail to do this correctly your application may be denied.

An officer will move your post to our private forum and once your sponsor has been contacted you will be contacted by an officer about your application status
